Machine/ Icon/ Monument by Melanie Wilson (in development)
Machine/Icon/Monument presents the endeavour of a group of diverse women constructing a large architectural sculpture in a public city centre space. The group build the structure over the course of a day, in an eight hour durational performance, the last hour of which includes music, singing and poetic text.
In partnership with Hawkins Brown Architects. Development supported by Without Walls, outdoor arts consortium via their Blueprint programme and Manchester International Festival.
Developing throughout 2018/19/20 to be presented in 2021/22 around the UK.
